Addie 6 & 7 months

This little monkey is growing up so fast! I can't believe how fast the summer flew by, and she will be 8 months in just a few weeks!
At 6 months she weighed 16 lbs 8 oz and was 26'' long.
My babies are apparently long? I wonder who they get that from…
She has two front bottom teeth, and got the first one literally the morning she turned 6 months. and the next one a day later. Renne was the same.
She's been eating solid foods since 6 months, and is an awesome eater! She was a little clueless at the start and wouldn't swallow, but now she's a champ, but does have a texture preference just like her sister (and her dad). She also can't handle any lumps or small bits in her food, like Renne.  She loves bath time, and when I take her out of the bath its one of the only times she cries. She has such a sweet sensitive spirit, and breaks down into a pile of tears when someone yells too loud, or when you make a mean face at her. It's the most heart breaking cry, i'm so glad I hear it rarely because it nearly brings me to tears. Addie has been sitting lots better, and started right around 6 months. She's gradually gotten more motivated to stay sitting, but loved to throw herself backwards which made it tricky for me to leave her on her own. Addison is probably the most smiley baby I have ever seen. I'm not biased or anything, but she is the best baby in the world. I can't get over how happy she is. It doesn't matter who talks to her, she just lights up and gives them the biggest grin. She is such a ray of sunshine. We are lucky she picked our family.

This little face!! She has been more cuddly lately, and this is her expression when she just wants to stare into your eyes and talk to you. Melts me every time.

i mean, common!!

squeeeeeeely face

goofy grin, do i see some chia-pet hair?

My girls look so different!! Mini Tim and Mini Ash. I wonder if our next one will be a blend…(no, i'm not pregnant, people go nuts for even the slightest hints of baby number 3, but yes, we will be having more. I may or may not already be baby hungry, but pregnancy hungry…that is something else entirely)

Addison does look a lot like I did as a baby, and she also looks like mom and my Grandma McConnell, who passed away last year. I like to think they were together before Addie was born, because they are two peas in a pod. My grandma was always smiling and always happy, people called her "sunshine". She was the classiest woman I've ever known, so proper, very British. Even in her final days she was so sweet and kind and polite, calling the nurses "Pet" I can still hear her perfect delicious accent. I like to think Addie and her had some heart to hearts before Addie came to us. I also think she would be thrilled we chose Jayne as Addie's middle name.

As evident above, i'm not awesome at taking pictures of my kids. Seriously guys, it's no cake walk. It's one thing to get a picture of a person who is sitting still, and actually looking at the camera, but these two smiling together, nearly impossible. So, I decided to take the girls to Sears and get some pictures. I have some pictures of Renne at this very age in a big frame that I absolutely love, and I wanted to get similar ones of Addie for my baby wall.

I had a hard time choosing which ones to post, so there's A MILLION of them. But since this blog is mostly for my journaling purposes, I think i'll leave it this way and if you happen to be reading this, just be rude and skip the pics. But you'll be missing out ;)

my chubalub

she can't possibly have any more pictures on this post, can she?

oh, yes, yes, i can...

sorry…almost done...

I'm such a lucky mom

5 months

Dear sweet Addison, you are so very loved.
I adore this little girl so much, and can't get enough cuddles or kisses.
Addie weighs 15 lbs 3 oz and is 25.5'' long
She is almost sitting on her own, but really likes to throw herself backward on the ground, hence the pillow wall :) She loves rolling, and I quite often find her rolled into a corner, or rolled into the middle of the hard floor, just content and happily kicking away. She scares me sometimes with how mellow she is. I will find her stuck underneath furniture, and she just smiles at me without a care in the world. She lets me know when she needs something, and loves to coo at me. She especially comes alive once her sister is in bed, and she knows she has mommy and daddy to herself. We cherish our one on one time with her. Nothing is sweeter than seeing your kids interact though. Renne is loving watch Addie grow and learn new things, and she is very protective of her little sister. She will quite often come running to me and say "MOM! Addie is awake, go get her!"she can hardly wait to see her after her nap.

Addie has these adorable little "praying hands". They are  almost always clasped together, held tight into her chest.

always chewing on her hands this one

Ok, so this is a little side-note: I am the only in my family with "Low eyes" as Tim calls them, eyes like my Dad's. My eyes are almond shaped and are very dark brown, and i've always thought they weren't as beautiful as the big blue eyes my siblings have. I remember as a young girl feeling special that I was different, but always thought my eyes were ugly. When Addie was born I immediately fell in love with her dark beautiful, piercing eyes. She was perfect. When Tim told me her eyes were just like mine, I started to cry. I hadn't even considered her beauty was from me, since her eyes are actually Hazel. It's amazing what you learn to love about yourself by loving your children. She is a gift in so many ways.
We love you sweetie. Now just please stay a baby forever.

4 months!

Little Addie J is almost 5 months, but here is her 4 month old post :)
Just some quick updates on this cutie pie:
Weighs 13 pounds, 12 oz.
She is 24.8 inches long
She is still in 3-6 month clothes, but filling them out more and more.
She is a very good girl, and has been sleeping through the night for the past few weeks!! I feel amaaaaazing! It makes a huge difference in how much energy I have during the day. Thank you baby girl!! She is such a wonderful baby, I am soooo grateful she's easy going. She is such a sweet, tender little girl. She is sensitive too, and when she's sad she has the most heart breaking cry. It's so so sad. When I took her for her shots she BALLED. It was horrible. Renne always took shots like a champ, and hardly cried. But Addie was as disaster and in the waiting room afterwards, I had a few people tell me they wanted to cry with her. I usually keep it together pretty good, but I did get pretty teary eyed after ten minutes of it. Poor little girl. :( Renne was so concerned. I told her Addie's medicine hurts, but its ok, and it will help her. She kept saying "Addie, it's ok. Medicine hurts. It's ok" Those heart melting moments just don't get old.

I could seriously kiss her cheeks all day long. I'm so obsessed with her.

She makes my snapchats way cuter! Thanks Ads
We look alike, no?

Addison is smiling all the time these days! She is so interactive now, I love it! She will start giggling when I make silly faces at her or even when I just look at her and smile. She is extremely ticklish. She laughs when I gently tickle her armpits or her neck. It's the cutest thing.

She is chewing on her hands and fingers constantly. She loves her hands up close by her face. Sometimes it looks like she's praying its adorable.

I mean, common!
She literally falls asleep anywhere! Quite often I will be putting Renne down, or helping her with something, and I leave Addie on the floor or in her bouncy seat, and i will come back and she is fast asleep, even during all of the noise and chaos, no blanket, no soother, nothing. She loves to be cuddled and I wish I had more opportunities to snuggle my little bug. i just can't even...

her worried face. kills me

Those chubby arms!! Love them.

We are so blessed to have this girl in our life. Thank you Addison for choosing our family!!

Addie 3 Months

Addison is 3 months old (2 weeks ago). Never mind how late i am…
We cannot believe how much she has grown and are trying to absorb every minute of it! I am so obsessed with this girl, she brings such joy to my life. She has been waking up more and more and smiling like crazy. She is getting so strong and just started rolling over onto her back. She is so interactive and looks around for us and will "ask" to be held. She loves to be cuddled, and I am savouring that like crazy!! She is waking up more and more, which is really fun for all of us! She loves her sleep this girl, and is usually awesome at putting herself to sleep, as long as she is wrapped up tight! She loves to say "a-goo, a-goo" in the sweetest little voice with the most to die for duck lips!
Addie weighs 13 pounds 4 oz
she is 24 inches long
she is wearing 3-6 month clothes
she is doing wonderful. She likes to wake up to eat normally just once a night now, and she sleeps in her crib which is great, although I miss her being next to me in the bassinet at times. I usually can't resist and have her cuddle with me in the very early mornings after Tim leaves for work.

My girls - the fishy crackers are necessary to keep Renne still! I don't know how moms get these amazing pictures of their kids. it's clearly a talent that I do not have!!

Renne is a bit overzealous with her sister at times, and Addie handles it like a champ. I love watching these two interact. I have to watch closely…The other day Renne was putting lotion on Addie's face, and she also tries to feed her food. I think she has good intentions…She just wishes Addie could be her doll, which of course terrifies me a bit when she throws her dolly into the carseat.  I hear her all the time calling her dollies "Addie" and telling them "It's ok", "I got you, baby" and "NO, Addie!" haha (her favourite word lately) She plays this game where she will go into the pantry and say "Mommy, NO!!" and then she shuts the door like I'm not allowed to come in. She does it over and over haha. What the heck kid? She cracks me up.

So happy and content.

This is a typical Addison expression. I adore her.

I don't want her to change, but I can't wait to see who she turns into, all at the same time!

She loves baths just like her older sister
She loves to be wrapped up tight, always with those little hands clutched into her tummy.

This is such a classic Addie Renne picture. Renne eating a fishy cracker while Addie swings her right arm and gives me the puppy dog eyes. I love those little faces…

Quick parental update: Tim and I are both doing really well. Tim is working hard at work designing and constantly making improvements to old designs. They are very lucky to have him at AGI. He has a very special brain, and can see such intricate things in his head. I love him for choosing a unique career that perfectly suites his skills and brain. He chose something outside the box and I admire him for it. He keeps busy being the 11-year old scout leader, playing basketball with guys in the ward, and his has a few plans to build our deck and the girls a sandbox in the coming weeks. He is always so so helpful when he comes home, I never have to ask him to do anything. He will gladly make dinner and watch both girls for me so I can run to the store or go for a run. I'm so so lucky. I've been trying to eat healthy and exercise and I absolutely love getting into a routine with that. It feels so nice to see your body slowly come back. I keep busy being the music chairman in our ward, and am loving it! I get to choose all of the music, help people do musical numbers and work with the choir. It's really fun for me! I also have subbed a few times (I know, it's crazy) in the past few weeks, and that's been….good. I miss my girls, but the day goes super fast, and I know the girls are in wonderful hands with my mom. I'm not going to do it too much, but it's nice to make a little extra money and get into the classroom. It's just who I am. I love going into "Teacher mode". I currently can't imagine leaving my girls to take any kind of position, so subbing works great for the time being. I am loving my mommy routine that I've worked hard to sort out. We love going to library time, the park, stay and play, and the pool. We have so many little friends who live close, it's been awesome! Our ward is amazing and I've made some really awesome friends. Can't wait to have lots of fun this summer at the cabin and continue watching my girls grow. I love it more than anything. This time goes by in a flash, and I really try to savour the little moments. The moments when Renne pats me on the back and says "I burp you Mommy, it's ok" or when she hugs me after a fit and says "Sorry mommy". Or when Renne hears Addie crying and runs to her with her awesome dramatic face and says "ADDIE CRYING, I help her!" and they give each other a huge smile. 2 has been an adjustment that has really humbled me, but motherhood really does refine you and make you better. It has its defeating moments for sure, but I have seen myself stretch and grow over the past few months more than I ever have in my life. I'm praying and reading more than I ever have before. I cling to those things because, I need them in a very real way. A wise mother in Edmonton told me, "you grow immensely with each child. You can't imagine having more than what you have because, you aren't ready for it until you have to be." I try and remember this when I feel like a rookie mom. We don't all wake up one day and magically become a sane, organized mother of 4 children. It takes lots of practice, failing, and hard work to get to that point. And just because I'm not there yet, doesn't mean I won't be. I'm ranting…That's all for now.
